Pinnacle Cervical Cytology Module
|
PINNACLE Cervical Cytology module is modern, easy to
use and highly flexible, and was designed by laboratory staff,
specifically for the Cervical Cytology environment, with
many user-defined formats and parameters and conforms to
the BSCC requirements for laboratory computer systems.
The system can be implemented in a single laboratory or as
part of an integrated pathology solution with other
PINNACLE modules.
|
Patient Database
|
All PINNACLE modules, including Cervical Cytology, are linked
to common patient demographic information using the power
and flexibility of the ORACLE Relational Database
Management System.
|
Request Entry
|
Request entry screen layouts are customised for each
laboratory and they can also be implemented on a centralised
basis. They are designed for maximum ease of use and for
enhanced productivity, using coded entry techniques and
including the capture of any discipline-specific data such as
last menstrual period, contraception method and a number of
GP related data items.
|
Report Entry
|
Result data entry is accomplished simply and efficiently
using a combination of basic text entry, coded data phrases
and templates, and also through the use of a sophisticated,
integrated word-processing package.
In addition to recording the authoriser of the result, up to three
screeners can also be identified and recorded with each
sample.
|
Automatic Encoding
|
PINNACLE supports the use of fully user-defined, automatic
disease and topography encoding, based upon local and
national standards, including the BSCC guidelines and
relevant SNOMED codes. Extensive search and selection
facilities from the dictionary are also available for the manual
addition of other codes and phrase in complex cases.
|
Failsafe Call / Recall Functionality
|
A wide range of specific functions are provided for the
laboratory to manage patients within the cervical screening
programme such as automatic, multiple letter production
using the recall dates maintained by the system. Electronic
data transfers to and from the FHSA or CHI systems are also
supported.
|
Enquiries
|
Accessible within the Cervical Cytology laboratory, across other
disciplines or to authorised external users, the enquiry
facilities provide fast and secure access to patient result data.
|
|
Comprehensive Reporting and Management Information
|
In addition to the standard reports including workload
statistics, data can easily be analysed and reported upon using
a range of industry-standard SQL tools including the
powerful, data analysis and reporting tools Business Objects
and Oracle Discoverer.
