Data Migration

Data Migration is undertaken when data from one database system is moved to another system. Even though the structure of the new system might differ from that of the old system, it is important to retain the essential meaning of the relationships between data. Data migration usually involves some element of data analysis to ensure that information captured by the data is not lost. This can be a very involved process requiring co-operation between company managers, staff and IT personnel.
