Data Model
Data modelling, as it applies to database systems, is the process of defining which information will be represented in a database, and how the data elements are related. The modelling process is independent of specific hardware and software which only become important at a subsequent implementation stage.
To be useful, the data modelling process must be carried out in an open, inclusive manner, so that the community of eventual users has adequate input into the design process. The whole reason for the data modelling process is to enable us to build systems that make our information more useable and effective.
At Foremost IT we recognise the importance of a well-designed data model, and we strive to ensure that we have understood all of our customers' data requirements before embarking on the implementation of any system.
